NEW TREND ALERT

Just when I thought we’ve seen it all with the crazy types of manicures (e.g. shatter, magnetic, feathers, caviar, etc.), I questioned myself, “What will be the next leading trend in the nail world?”

After having dinner with my beautiful family, I noticed that the crawfish heads were piled up on a plate, soon going to the trash. My heart ached, knowing that those poor critters sacrificed themselves to be my dinner. I silently whispered to the pile, “Little critters, I will give you a chance to fulfill your wildest dreams.”

And so, the Crawfish Manicure was born.

Application is fairly simple:

  1. Start out by having a nice seafood dinner.
  2. Save at least 10 crawfish heads (since crawfish sizes tend to vary, I keep extras just in case some do not fit the nails properly).
  3. Apply your favorite base coat onto each nail. I love to use Orly’s Bonder Rubberized base coat (a must-have base coat).
  4. Working quickly, but carefully, pick up each crawfish head between your opposite thumb and index finger and slide the head onto the finger.
  5. Repeat this step for each finger.
  6. Apply a generous amount of your favorite top coat. I highly suggest Seche Vite for that gorgeous shine.

I have been sporting this manicure for days and have gotten some strange looks from people, but I take it that they are just jealous of my fabulous trend-setting abilities.

WARNING: Crawfish tend to start stinkin’ after several hours, so I recommend using a clothespin to clamp your nose.

Good luck! Please let me know if you have any questions. I would love to see your take of the Crawfish Manicure, so posts picture onto my Facebook page!

In case anyone thinks this post is serious, APRIL FOOLS! Please do not actually attempt this ‘manicure.’ Your fingers will smell of crawfish brains and you’re going to be mad at me - so don’t do it.
