REVIEW: MASH Matte Top Coat Nail Polish

American Apparel Passport Blue
Milani Teal

When it comes to nails, I always think, the more glitter, the better. However, sometimes that high-gloss and extra glitter can be “too much” for certain situations. For example, if you’re wearing a bedazzled-sequins-rhinestones dress (if ever), having the same style of nails may be going overboard. Or maybe you’re in a professional work/school environment and some people (boo on them!) don’t understand the beauty of shiny blingblanged-out manicures. How do we fix this while also maintaining a beautiful manicure? Easy.

With MASH Matte Top Coat, you can mattify the texture of any nail polish. Here, I created a simple glitter manicure by layering Milani’s Teal over two coats of American Apparel’s Passport Blue. You can see in the picture below that the glitter pieces are shiny and the finish is glossy, even without adding a shiny top coat:

MASH Matte Top Coat allows you to mattify ANY polish in your collection. There is no need to spend extra money on special matte polishes. If you already own some matte colors, you know that these types of polishes tend to chip within a few days because you cannot protect the manicure with a top coat (a glossy top coat defeats the purpose of a matte polish). However, MASH Matte Top Coat can be used to protect the color while also maintaining the matte texture. Just use it like a regular top coat.

The first picture above shows the manicure with just one coat of the matte polish to get the dull-like effect. Here is an even closer look at the differences:

The Matte Top Coat was sent to me for consideration from MASH. As always, the opinions stated are honest and my own. For more information, please see my full disclosure.
