FUZZY WUZZY + tutorial Since I started this site over a year ago, I have received many requests for video tutorials, but I was not able to deliver due to my busy school and work schedules. However, I was feeling up to the challenge for a picture tutorial today (I’m slowly working my way up!) after trying out this velvet powder from Born Pretty Store (BPS). I have seen velvet nail art here and there online, but not much. Like past trends (e.g. caviar manicures and such), I am sure it has died down, but I just tried it out today and I find it to be a rather funky look that everyone should try for the winter season. So before I start reviewing the individual products, let’s take a look at how I achieved this “fuzzy wuzzy” look. :) What you will need:
nail polish color of your choice, velvet powder, tweezers, small brush
That’s it! Easy, right? You can apply the velvet to all of your nails for a full fuzzy manicure, but I chose to apply it to my accent nails. The texture is just like velvet, so you do not want to apply a top coat over it. Sweet Color #10 by BPS is a gorgeous lavender-gray creme. It’s a one-coater, which is great for a pastel color. Love it! The bottle is super cute and the brush is flat, which allows for extra precision when painting. I chose to pair this color with a purple flocking powder (can be purchased here). Each bottle of velvet powder comes with a pair of tweezers and a small brush, so you don’t need to buy anything else to create this look. The powder is very fine and you will not get clumps on your nails. I had a lot of fun putting flocking powder on my nails. If you want to try something new, definitely give these products a chance.
